HDS is a Swiss non-profit foundation. We give people the tools to manage and share their health data securely, on their own terms.

What we’re working on

We’re starting with women’s health, a field where medical data has historically been incomplete, and where patients have had little say over their own records. Our first work focuses on building ethical, consent-based databases that address those gaps.

From there, we’ll expand into other therapeutic areas, building infrastructure that serves patients, researchers, clinicians, and developers.

Why now

The EU’s European Health Data Space regulation and recent US executive actions on health data interoperability are moving health data governance up the political agenda. We’re building the patient-side infrastructure that makes those policies meaningful in practice, giving individuals actual control, not just regulatory promises.

Our work is grounded in the FemTech ecosystem and connects with a growing coalition of people who believe data sovereignty and medical research can reinforce each other rather than conflict.
